Public Works

The Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance of all public roads within the County, with the exception of private driveways, roads owned by industry, and highways, which are the responsibility of Alberta Infrastructure and Transportation. Highways include Highway 3, Highway 61, Highways 877, 879, 880, 885, 887, and Highways 500, 501, and 523. Maintenance of County roads includes gravelling, snow removal, sanding, steaming culverts, pothole patching and more. The Public Works department also looks after sidewalks, signage, bridges, and roadside drainage issues.
