Foremost Forty Mile Regional Water Project
The County of Forty Mile has partnered with the Village of Foremost for the provision of potable water to the hamlets of Etzikom and Manyberries. The Regional Water Treatment Plant was completed in early 2018 and began providing water to the Village. In 2019 the regional pipeline to Etzikom and the new distribution and transfer pump house in Etzikom were completed and water was supplied to the hamlet from Foremost. In the spring of 2020 the continuation of the regional pipeline to Manyberries and the upgrades to the Manyberries distribution pump house will be completed and begin to receive the same water. The County is planning on connecting the hamlets of Nemiscam and Orion to the regional pipeline once design is completed. Regional pipelines are built with a volume allocation for rural, trickle fill, connections. Interest in this rural component should be directed to

Burdett Pump House Upgrades
Inn 2019 the County completed significant upgrades to the Burdett Pump House. The water storage capacity was more than doubled, a diesel generator was installed, pumps were upsized, and the distribution piping leaving the pump house was extended in two directions to provide redundancy and adequate flows into the hamlet. These upgrades now allow the pump house to provide flow rates and volumes to support large, long duration fire fighting.
Bow Island Bulk Water Station
With the Towns aging water tower, the bulk water station was shut down in 2019 for safety. The County looked into providing rural users in the area access to potable water, and partnered with the Town to build a new bulk water station near the Bow Island airport. The County built and operates the new bulk water station on land leased from the town. Water is supplied to the station through the Towns distribution system. Access to water from the station is through accounts at the County of Forty Mile, which also work at Burdett and Manyberries bulk water stations.
