The County Utilities Department manages water, wastewater, and garbage services in the hamlets of Burdett, Etzikom, Manyberries, Nemiscam, Orion, Skiff, and Winnifred. The water and wastewater systems are regulated by
Alberta Environment & Parks
and Alberta Health. The County’s three licensed operators ensure the safety and efficiency of all of these systems.
The County of Forty Mile is partnered with the Highway 3 Regional Water Services Commission and the Village of Foremost in receiving potable water to the hamlets of Burdett and Etzikom through regional pipelines. Manyberries will be receiving potable water through the regional pipeline from Foremost in the spring of 2020 with Nemiscam and Orion to follow.
The County Council has approved the Utilities Rate Structure for 2024.

The County provides bulk water truckfill stations in Burdett, Bow Island, Manyberries, and Skiff. Skiff is coin operated and takes $1 and $2 coins. The other systems are account based with access codes. To acquire an access code, please call 403-867-3530.
